So I decided sometime late last year that I didn't want to do Administration work for the rest of my life. That just wasn't for me. So I began looking around, I found an article in a Nova Scotia paper that was about a lady sueing a hospital because they didn't have an anesthesiologist on and that her grandson died because they couldn't do a c-section on the mother fast enough. So I wanted to become one... turns out that you have to become a doctor and then specialize in that. No I didn't want to do 12 years of school, back to the drawing board. Anesthesiologist then came to mind, I looked into it and if I became a Respiratory Therapist after a few years doing that I could go back to school and then become a anesthesiologist assistant. Sweet! I wanted to be a paramedic for a long time but didn't like that I would more then likely have to work on a reserve to have a job. So this sounded perfect, not even a few weeks after I got accepted to SAIT there was an article in the paper saying how high demand this job is. Wicked!
I did have to go back to SIAST in Saskatoon to take my Chem 30 class which I didn't in high school. The teacher there was awesome! I have a blast in class and learnt a lot of stuff. That also gave me the mind set of going to school again, I have't been in school in 3.5 years, I was nervous!
On my first few days here I made this list on facebook
I should probably start a blog about this school year but I will start here
- Some kids staying in residence are really young looking... I don't even know if some of them can buy their own booze :|
- Bring ear plugs or good headphones, people play loud music... at least its decent music
- Matress topper is a must!
- Buy Queen sheets, yes the bed is a double but by the time you get the topper on there the double sheets don't fit :/
- Good bath mat! Shower water goes everywhere
- Extra long shower curtian again shower water goes everywhere
- Bring a TV/Monitor I have my 42" editing monitor hooked up to the PC and to cable (get shaw it's awesome)
- Pillows, bring lots
- Blow up matress for friends, there is enough room in the kitchen, in the room or even under the bed
- There is tons of storage, under the bed and in the closet. I brought two containers and I don't even need them
- School campus tour is good... even if you don't remeber everything it will gve you a good place to start
- I've gotten lost on campus already... found my way back
- Best thing about living on campus... when lost just look up for the tallest building
- Figure out your cell phone provider before you officially move
- I've been with out my cell for 5 days now... this has been the longest in 8+ years without a phone... so far so good...havent freaked out to bad... yet
- My friends are awesome, my going away supper was so much fun, skype dates are awesome and they are always there to talk to
- My roommate is pretty cool, id say if you are moving from out of province then get a roommate, easiest way to make an insta friend. I think I got luck so far in life to have all awesome roommates everywhere I have lived.
- It worked awesome to have a vehicle here for a few days when I first moved here
- I hear cars with exhaust and motorcycles drive by all the time, I miss my car and riding :( :(
- The weather here is weird... it will get a little cooler but the wind is warm. Not complaining but just different
- Sask sunsets are prettier.. That about the only thin about the province I miss... the people I miss tons but not smelly wascana or anything... okay maybe I miss Stoons river too... I still want to explore the east side more... Stupid people and not following through with their promises, ya you, you know who you are
I'm happy to say my phone does work again. It was a long 6 days without it. Facebook chat kept me from losing my mind though, almost everyone has it hooked up to their phones.
