Molten Lava!!

Has everyone played this game as a kid? The game were you pretend the floor is lava and you can't walk on it, you have to reach for everything and or throw pillows on the ground and use them as stepping stones. I loved it! Sometimes I am reminded of this game as I am being lazy and reaching off of my bed for something off of my desk. My bed is roughly 3.5 ish feet off the ground. I have to practically jump to get on it. This makes the lava game that much more adult, when I'm reaching off my bed and if I fail at the game of not falling off when reaching for something I am falling about 4ft onto straight concrete :| . I haven't fallen... yet! I'm sure there will be a blog post about it the time it does happen though so don't worry. I will share my embarrassment.

Much like this

Except I can't put my hand on the ground to support myself

So my burn is healing well! You can see the before photo there, but it is healing up nice now! I've been dilligent and putting a band-aid with Polysporin on every night.

Excuse the randomness today, I forgot to write about things yesterday I jotted down and then today has been more or less just random things going on.

We had mentor meetings today for the first time. They were pretty cool, you are in a small group with second year students and a teacher, you talk about what you need help with (general) like should I memorize the text books or mostly go off of the slide but supplement with the text. The later is what they said to go with. On the way home I stopped on in the bakery/meat shop the students run. SAIT offers buchery courses as well as culinary and pastery courses and they sell what the students make in the store. Its right next to my building but only open from 11-3 so it's hard to remeber to pop in there. So today I did, and I picked up a few goodies :D

Pork chops an a very delicious chocolate truffle!

I don't know what pork chops normally cost but I thought 4$ is a good price! Especially when I don't have to go anywhere expect next door to get it.

Here is my early morning organized chaos. I woke up about 7 thank to mr/ms 6:20am alarm upstairs :/
I don't have class on thursdays till 10 :/ ohh well I got some stuff done

and I finished the post and still forgot to write about the missed stuff yesterday. lol nap time soon! So on my jot downs yesterday it became clear that I actually don't mind as much as I originally thought being older then the average in my class. We were in lab doing role play activities assessing or interviewing "patients". I like all the life experience I've had, when it came to role playing talking to a child I related how I would want to talk to my niece or what would and wouldn't work with trying to ask them questions and such. It is also very helpful to pull from last life guarding/junior life guarding with these role plays, granted we played a lot more dead people or almost dead people in those courses. But getting into character and taking it serious and knowing when to break a scenario and talk about what is going well and what isn't. Also a big part of doing role playing is to have confidence and to not be afraid to act out the part, yes you can laugh at the funny stuff but everyone has to role play and the more real you make it the more the person will get out of it.

Also thus far Juanita has been the teacher that is most like my style of learning. I also am really interested to know how she got the jobs she did. Her stories are interesting and I think I would like to do some of the jobs she has done. She's funny but gets the point across.
