Third year will look like this
Tuition - 4000
Rent - hopefully free
Books (they always tell us we should be set but we normally end up spending anywhere from 200-300)
Gas - 250/trip (in a regular vehicle.. I'm not even going to think what my car will cost)
Food - $40 x 6 days = $240/trip
Lodging - no idea if I can find someone to crash with here for free
Minimum extra cost = about $1500 that's without paying for lodging.
Being a student and on loans thats a freaken ton
Okay i'm going to /rant.... for now
This weeks SIM went kind of off the wall. :/ I was an "RT" and... k wait i'll explain this a little bit more because this will make no sense to people who don't participate in them.
We have SIM once a week. It's where we practice being an RT and RT roles in a fake hospital setting. Our normal groups we have 5 people. We divide roles every week, we rotate so everyone gets a chance to try a different role. The roles consist of; Lead, two RT's, recorder, and an observer. The roles are pretty self explanatory. okay back to the story
I was one of the two RT's and I was delayed getting into the story line because I stayed out to put full PPE on (personal protective equipment). (When we get a patient coming into ER we don't normally know a history on them so we put everything on, gown, gloves, mask, goggles. Just to be ultra sure. Anyways so my group didn't do this so hence my delay. Anyways to jump to the part where I think things went down hill. I took over bagging and basically my other RT disappeared. Turns out they went to get equipment to fix the problem, even though it isn't in our scope of practice. Anyways cole notes - I came in late, got ditched mid sim, I felt like it didn't go well. /story
Nothing else too new, I took my snowboard into get waxed, poor thing hasn't been waxed in a few years so I'm going to have a real treat :)
I watched Frozen. lol yes the kids movie. It was good! well not spectacular but I was cleaning my room so from what I heard/saw it was good. It was a new age Disney movie, one of the parts that made me look and actual watch was the sister just met this handsome prince and they had this lovey dovey song and then she goes to her sister and says they are getting married. Her sister freaks out and tells her no she can't just marry a man she just met. I was like whaaaaa
That's awesome! Disney finally being like love is not all meet get married.Ohh ya I also have to take my laptop in to get set away this weekend :| It keeps getting super hot, I can't nessessarly say overheating because it's never shut down on me yet from the heat. But when I pick it up it's like touching a boiling pot of water. The battery life also only last about 1.5hrs unplugged. Not good when we have class for 4 hrs :/
So hopefully I'll get that back before too long
Ooo last weekend I photographed my first Boudoir session. I have never really had dedicated time to photograph that before nor had I looked into how to pose it and such. I spent time researching poses and pinning my little heart away on pinterest with articles and guides and how to's. I also got a great team together. My models were two girl from class as well as a last minute joiner who was a friend from highschool. I was pointed in the direction of a fellow photographer in Calgary who wanted to expand his portfolio, he turned out to be great! I also asked a girl in my class to help with assisting with reflectors and posing and such, and she was also awesome. So all in all the weekend couldn't have been possible without Chris giving me his hotel points to rent the room, he is super awesome too. The models were great, they each had their own fabulous personalities and they were patient with me and were great in helping me figure out this style. It's something I definitely was to do again, I just have to figure out how to put one together with hair/make up/hotel room and still make sometime for the time i'm putting in.
About now if you've actually read my ramblings I will give you a break and post the pictures.
Here's a forewarning there will be a gruesome picture. I will put it last.
Bronchoscoping in lab
Here's a little video of me working with the broncoscope as well as some of my classmates

Last week I tried something a little different. I got a bunch of awesome make up for x-mas and Pintrest always has cool ideas.
I sometimes have lab late two days a week. Forsure once a week lab for me goes till 6, and by the time I get home I seriously don't feel like cooking. SO I made up some homemade beef and barley soup. It tastes pretty damn good if I say so myself.
Picture of pictures of one of my models from this past weekend. She is beautiful!
Saw this in the parking lot on the way to class this week. Jeep you have failed. This = ugly
Tried new nails. They were pretty thick for my liking but I liked them while they lasted
Another collage from one of my other models. Just gorgeous!
I found this hilarious
Me posing with one of our pediatric manikins
Different version I tried.... They didn't last that long. When I got mad/stressed about site selection for prac I ended up peeling it off :(
Okay gruesome picture next!
...yes thats a person's face. No we don't know what happened but if you look close you can make out his tongue so we couldn't figure out how it looks like it's exploded out of his face... like from the nose/mouth area out. This could be the kind of difficulty we could be faced with. It's our job to secure his airway, how would we do that on this patient. That was our class discussion
